Wisdom Teeth in London

Dental x-ray and model

The wisdom teeth are the final set of adult molars, and they usually begin to emerge when you’re in your late teens. Often there isn’t enough space in your jaw for the wisdom teeth to grow properly, so they can become misaligned or they can impact your other molars. We check the growth of the wisdom teeth during dental exams, and when we see that they are becoming misaligned we’ll recommend extraction.

Wisdom teeth extraction is performed under a local anesthetic, and we usually recommend a sedative for the procedure. The teeth are surgically removed from your jaw through incisions in your gums. After the teeth are removed, we close the incisions with sutures.

After your surgery you may feel some discomfort and swelling in the area. We’ll provide you with post-operative care instructions to help you manage your discomfort and ensure proper healing.
